San Mommè (www.sanmomme.it) is a holiday resort about 585m above sea level, renowned for its pleasant summer climate. Its proximity to towns such as Pistoia, Florence and Lucca enables a lot of people to commute to their holiday homes and enjoy the fresh air after a hot and busy day at the office.

In the hills around San Mommè you can take long walks, go trekking or mountain-biking, lake-fishing and perhaps visiting some of the many surrounding villages steeped in the history and traditions of the area. Children can play in the village park while teenagers and grown ups can play soccer at the village soccer field or tennis at the private tennis court of a Hotel in the village. In the local store you can go shop for fresh vegetables and warm Tuscan bread ("schiacciata") to eat with shepherd's cheese or genuine Tuscan salami. At the local café you can take refreshments as you enjoy the sunshine of the village square. You can try a real “bistecca fiorentina" and sample the delicious Chianti wine at the local restaurant (and all at very reasonable prices). In the village there is a Post Office – open 3 days a week, and Railway Station. The pharmacy is in Piteccio, 4 Km.

During the summer the village organizes evening dances, fancy-dress parties and Bingo with our typical gastromonic products as prizes.

If you are interested in SPAS you can not miss La Grotta Giusti of Monsummano Terme and the beneficial waters of Montecatini Terme both located a few kilometres from Pistoia.
